What type engagement do you want on your blog?

Engagement refers to the attention other people pay to your published content, like blog posts, news & articles. They see and read a post, and then because it’s interesting, inspiring, or controversial, they get “hooked” and decide to take further action. – PostRank Analytics

What defines “further action” for you?

Is it a new subscriber by email or RSS?

Is it someone commenting on your blog post?

Someone sharing your blog post through Facebook, Twitter, Google+? What are you doing to keep that conversation alive if they do share your content elsewhere?

Is it someone contacting you to inquire about your products/services? Can I easily find your products and services page by navigating your website? Furthermore, is it clear to me (as a first time visitor) what your site is about and what you do?

What do you want people to do next, once they land on your website? What are you doing to get them there?

Just something to think about…

Interesting question Ricardo. For me, it used to be about blog comments. I just wanted to get people engaged. This year, though, I want to make the focus of my blog more about products and services that can help people, so it’s more about email signups as I can let them know more about what’s going on. Thanks for the challenge.

You using a drip campaign for the email sign-ups at all? Just wondering. That’s really helped me drive traffic/conversions to the membership site I’m running.
