Does Social Networking Decrease the Level of Productivity In Your Office?

clockEveryone’s on top of social media and social networking as a lead generation tool. Twitter’s used to broadcast information and engage with potential customers. Facebook’s being used as a new farming tool. We blog to increase our presence and visibility in the search engines. We comment on discussion forums like Trulia Voices to connect with consumers who are asking pertinent questions about real estate. But how effective is all of this really compared to traditional lead generation techniques? (i.e. Cold-calling, door knocking, etc.).

How do you personally manage your time with social media? How do you track progress and results? If you’re a Broker, do you encourage/support your Agents and their use of social media (if yes, how so)?
