If you want to re-design your WordPress blog or just test out a new theme, you can try using the Theme Test Drive plugin so that you don’t necessarily have to take down your entire site while doing so. Basically, the plugin allows you to test drive any theme (AgentPress, Estate, etc.) on your blog as an ‘administrator’ while visitors still have access to your site using any of your other default themes. Visitors won’t even notice that you’re using and test driving a whole new theme for yourself when they come to your site.
Installation is pretty simple too:
- Install and Activate the plugin from your WordPress Dashboard,
- Then, go to the options page and set it to the theme that you want to preview.
From there, the theme you’ve selected will only be visible to you as the blog ‘administrator’ and everyone else will see the default theme. If you want to preview any other themes you might have installed, just add “?theme=xxx” to your url and you’re set to go!
I’d say it’s perfect for you as a Real Estate Blogger (or other professional) as you test out new themes to really optimize your site’s performance. Think you’ll use it?
